DON'T BE DECEIVED COVID-19 IS REAL AND IN NIGERIA

 I recently witnessed a scenario between a butcher and his customer,the butcher claimed covid-19 is not real because he is yet to see anyone infected with the virus. The customer simply told him the virus is real and she strongly believes it is infecting people who fail to protect themselves. The dramatic part of this conversation is that even though the butcher doesn't believe covid-19 is real,yet he is protecting himself with a nose mask. Shortly after he finished selling to the customer,another customer came along and sneezed shortly after standing in front of the butcher,the butcher ran and left his table for fear of being inflected with the same covid-19 he doest believe exist.

The lesson from this narration is that,the butcher might have misled other people to believing covid-19 is not real but he is taking measures to protect himself. Please protect yourself from covid-19 and discard all false information regarding covid-19. Always protect yourself against Covid-19,the virus is still much around and ready to infect whom it finds vulnerable or not observing the prescribed safety precautions. These are ; wearing a nose mask,   social distancing,washing of hands with soap and water,use of hand sanitizer, practice of proper hygiene.

Search For Common Ground Trains Journalists On Conflict Reporting

The need for journalists to examine issues impartially and cover such issues with inclusivity, reflecting on diverse perspectives which will in turn contribute to peace-building and social change was highlighted at a five-day intensive training on Common Ground Journalism for Journalists from Bayelsa, Rivers and Delta States, with the theme ‘A Community Centered Approach to Transforming Criminality and Violence in the Niger Delta” held in Warri, Delta state. In his opening remarks, Search for Common Ground Head of Office/Programme Implementation in the Niger Delta, Mr. Yacinthe Agbagadjan informed that the training was organized in partnership with Stakeholders Democracy Network, Partnership Initiatives in Niger Delta, and Academic Associates Peace Works, funded by the European Union as part of an 18 month project covering sixty-six communities across thirty-three Local Governments Areas of the three states. Architect defiles niece, 5, appears in court

A 34-year-old architect, Abiodun Akinpelu, who allegedly defiled his five-year-old niece, on Wednesday appeared before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos. Akinpelu, who resides at No. 29, Mayowa St., Orelope in Egbeda, a Lagos suburb, is facing a two-count charge of defilement and indecent assault. The offence, according to the Prosecutor, Insp. Clifford Ogu, was committed on Sept. 4 at the apartment of the accused. The accused indecently assaulted her by fingering her, Ogu told the court. “He lured the girl into his room, carried her on his laps and started fingering her. “The grandmother, while bathing the girl, discovered that she cries as she washes her private part. “The girl narrated everything that the uncle did to her to her grandmother,” he told the court. The prosecutor said the accused was arrested and handed over to the police. The offences contravened Sections 1375 and 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
