REFLECTION ON THE YEAR 2020

The year 2020 has been a tough and challenging year with covid-19 virus holding the world to a stand still. I will say it is a miracle to have survived the hurdles of the year 2020. The year started off like every other year but no one knew the twist and turns the year brought with it. The world plunged into economic comatose where people lost their jobs and some had to rely on their savings to feed.

This part of the world witnessed theories such  as; does the virus exist, does it affect black Africans or if our weather is resistant to the virus. The first death from the virus woke the populace up from their slumber with realization that indeed the virus is here. Unfortunately, in spite the deaths recorded, some set of people still don't believe the virus is here in Nigeria. Maybe because of the mistrust the people have for the government as some people wrongly assume it was a scheme by the government to  divert fund.

Kudos to Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) and the Federal ministry of health for working in synergy to ensure the outbreak of the virus does not get out of hand. Appreciation also goes to all groups and bodies who supported the nation in this challenging situation. However, the battle with covid-19 is still on as the second wave is upon us. We should keep protecting ourselves by adhering to the prescribed safety measures.

We shall make it alive and well to 2021.
