THE GIFT FREELY GIVEN

There is a a gift we often take for granted and see as our right. Some people go as far as starting their day and  living their lives like the world revolves around them, mind clouded with  expectations of how things should go as planned. They speak of  tomorrow or the future like that is  all needed to scale through to the aspiring future. 

No apologies for being religious but after God created man, one action brought man into being which I call the gift (breath of life). God breathed life into man and alas man came alive and all every other thing was set in motion. Lets pause here and think of all what man did after the gift was freely handed to him. Did man ever thought of the origin of this gift before disobeying? That is exactly the nature of man, forgetful and occupied with our ambition and desires without any thought of what happens when this gift is taken away from us. 

I don't know who is reading this but please take note that without this gift, we are nothing but empty vessel to be discarded. Here the soul and spirit carries on to tell your story to the giver of life. They will explain in details how you used the gift freely given to you. The trillionaires, politicians , kings and ruler, peasants and nobles of this world will all give account of their sojourn on earth.

Search For Common Ground Trains Journalists On Conflict Reporting

The need for journalists to examine issues impartially and cover such issues with inclusivity, reflecting on diverse perspectives which will in turn contribute to peace-building and social change was highlighted at a five-day intensive training on Common Ground Journalism for Journalists from Bayelsa, Rivers and Delta States, with the theme ‘A Community Centered Approach to Transforming Criminality and Violence in the Niger Delta” held in Warri, Delta state. In his opening remarks, Search for Common Ground Head of Office/Programme Implementation in the Niger Delta, Mr. Yacinthe Agbagadjan informed that the training was organized in partnership with Stakeholders Democracy Network, Partnership Initiatives in Niger Delta, and Academic Associates Peace Works, funded by the European Union as part of an 18 month project covering sixty-six communities across thirty-three Local Governments Areas of the three states. Architect defiles niece, 5, appears in court

A 34-year-old architect, Abiodun Akinpelu, who allegedly defiled his five-year-old niece, on Wednesday appeared before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos. Akinpelu, who resides at No. 29, Mayowa St., Orelope in Egbeda, a Lagos suburb, is facing a two-count charge of defilement and indecent assault. The offence, according to the Prosecutor, Insp. Clifford Ogu, was committed on Sept. 4 at the apartment of the accused. The accused indecently assaulted her by fingering her, Ogu told the court. “He lured the girl into his room, carried her on his laps and started fingering her. “The grandmother, while bathing the girl, discovered that she cries as she washes her private part. “The girl narrated everything that the uncle did to her to her grandmother,” he told the court. The prosecutor said the accused was arrested and handed over to the police. The offences contravened Sections 1375 and 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
