The management of the club where Burna boy and Davido allegedly had a face off issues a press release on the issue trending on the social media. " The management of Crescendo, owners of Twist  Club and Level Up Rooftop Lounge, have been notified of an allegation making rounds on social media. This is regarding a said altercation between two of our high profile guests, Davido and Burna Boy who both happen to be Nigerian Afrobeats stars. The incident occurred on the morning of 28th December 2020.  We would like to categorically iterate that the said incident did not occur inside the Twist Night Club. Twist Night Club remains closed in conformance with the Ghana government's protocol to help curb the ongoing pandemic. The aforementioned artists were indeed present at the Level Up Rooftop Lounge, which happens to be housed on the same premises as the night club.  While we cannot immediately comment on the details of the incident at the rooftop lounge, we would like to state that o

REFLECTION ON THE YEAR 2020

The year 2020 has been a tough and challenging year with covid-19 virus holding the world to a stand still. I will say it is a miracle to have survived the hurdles of the year 2020. The year started off like every other year but no one knew the twist and turns the year brought with it. The world plunged into economic comatose where people lost their jobs and some had to rely on their savings to feed. This part of the world witnessed theories such  as; does the virus exist, does it affect black Africans or if our weather is resistant to the virus. The first death from the virus woke the populace up from their slumber with realization that indeed the virus is here. Unfortunately, in spite the deaths recorded, some set of people still don't believe the virus is here in Nigeria. Maybe because of the mistrust the people have for the government as some people wrongly assume it was a scheme by the government to  divert fund. Kudos to Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) and the Feder

LET'S NOT GET CARRIED AWAY AS WE CELEBRATE

Christmas is a season of love and giving to enjoy with our friends and loved ones. However,it is important we don't get  carried away with the celebration and lower our guard. The safety of our friends and family from covid-19 should also be a top priority as we celebrate. Especially with the second wave of the virus upon us. Visits should be limited and if you must go out, ensure you observe all the prescribed safety measures. It will be refreshing to cruise into the new year with sound health, than neglecting the safety measures and getting infected by the virus after much celebration. If you truly love your friends and family, you will  see to it that they are protected by: ✅Wearing a face mask ✅Observing physical distancing ✅Washing their hands frequently with soap under running water ✅Coughing/sneezing into your bent elbow ✅Using an alcohol based hand sanitizer Covid-19 is real and in Nigeria, please protect yourself and  loved ones.  CC: @SFCG #togetheragainstcorona

DON'T BE DECEIVED COVID-19 IS REAL AND IN NIGERIA

I recently witnessed a scenario between a butcher and his customer, the butcher claimed covid-19 is not real because he is yet to see anyone infected with the virus. The customer simply told him the virus is real and she strongly believes it is infecting people who fail to protect themselves. The dramatic part of this conversation is that even though the butcher doesn't believe covid-19 is real, yet he is protecting himself with a nose mask. Shortly after he finished selling to the customer, another customer came along and sneezed shortly after standing in front of the butcher, the butcher ran and left his table for fear of being inflected with the same covid-19 he doest believe exist. The lesson from this narration is that, the butcher might have misled other people to believing covid-19 is not real but he is taking measures to protect himself. Please protect yourself from covid-19 and discard all false information regarding covid-19. Always protect yourself against Covid-19,the virus

SECOND WAVE OF COVID-19 IS HERE

The second wave of corona virus is upon us and we ought to work collectively to stop the spread. The figures from Nigeria center for Disease Control (NCDC) continue to rise and may linger unabated if we don't comply to  all the safety measures prescribed. As at yesterday, 19th December 2020,NCDC recorded 920 new cases of covid-19 in Nigeria. The people infected are most likely to have interacted with the populace, which implies that some of the people who fail to protect themselves during such interaction may add to the number of potential cases in the coming days or weeks. Therefore,it is important we adhere to all the preventive measures such as: ✅Wearing a face mask ✅Observing physical distancing ✅Washing your hands frequently with soap under running water ✅Cough/sneeze into your bent elbow #togetheragainstcorona

PROTECT YOURSELF AND LOVED ONES IN THIS FESTIVE SEASON

Compliments of the season our esteem  audience,as we go into the celebration mood, let us bear in mind that corona is not on holiday. The virus is still very much active and infecting those it finds not protecting themselves. We can protect ourselves by wearing a nose ask, washing our hands regularly with soap and water or using an alcohol based hand sanitizer. In addition, some of us may desire to travel to our home town so we can be with friends and family for the celebration. Please note that Corona Virus spreads when people move around from one location to another. We advice you avoid traveling during this period. The report from NCDC as at yesterday which recorded 1,145 new cases is indicating a rise in the number of cases, so it is best people stay in their current location to avoid the spread. #togetheragainstcorona

Fighting Depression??

Depression according to dictionary definition is a feeling of severe despondency and dejection. At this state of mind, self doubt and regrets creeps in to alter the order of thoughts. This could lead to a highly vulnerable state of mind where any irrational submission can be admitted since escape from reality is often what is sought for. People facing depression sometimes speak out in  riddles while some keep to themselves which sometimes leads to suicide. Mental health is one neglected aspect of life especially in Africa, many victims of depression may look normal and sane but will exhibit the characteristics of depression if watched closely. This implies family and friends need to be observant and  check on people they notice any form of withdrawal from.  The first step of coming out of depression is speaking out and assessing the situation at hand. Don't dwell too long on issues you cannot change and make moves for the situation you can change. Always find a reason to live and

Search for common ground mourns the death of Fatima Idris

On Monday, December 7 our dear colleague Ms. Fatima Idris Bultu was the victim of a hit-and-run car accident in Maiduguri, Nigeria. Tragically, she died from her injuries the next day. She was just 47 years old. Search for Common Ground in Nigeria and the global Search for Common Ground community mourn Fatima’s tragic passing. We lost a highly esteemed colleague and friend, and Nigeria lost one of its brightest and most influential emerging leaders in media and peacebuilding. Fatima was a powerful voice for peace and justice, taken from us much too soon. From a young age, she found ways to speak to millions of Nigerians in an authentic manner that amplified the intrinsic human dignity in every person, reflected an inspiring vision for the future, and expressed an unwavering commitment to turn that vision into a reality. Fatima became a journalist and a well-known and loved producer and presenter on Peace FM, an independent radio station in Borno State in northeastern Nigeria. In 2018
